Psychotherapy

People come to therapy for many reasons. I can support you with many of these in a compassionate and supportive environment.

When was the last time you prioritised you?

Life can be hectic! Whether it's work, kids or any number of other responsibilities, it can be hard to find the time to look after yourself properly. And yet, you are the most important person in your life. You can't give to others unless you look after your own well-being. I provide a space where you are really listened to and understood. A time which is focused completely on you and your needs knowing that you will be accepted for the exceptional person you are.

There are many different approaches out there and so it can be confusing to know which you should choose. Interestingly, no one approach has been proven to be more effective than another. A lot of research has shown that the key to success in therapy is the relationship between client and therapist rather than the approach or techniques used. As an integrated therapist, I prioritise our relationship first, ensuring that I really listen to you and your needs so that I can truly understand your reasons for therapy. From this, I can draw on any number of approaches or techniques which suit your specific needs while always making sure that you are happy with the direction therapy takes.

An integrated approach to psychotherapy

How we could work together

You may feel like you know why you are feeling the way you are and are keen to address the issues that are holding you back from truly living your life. Perhaps you don't know the cause but you do know that you're not as happy as you could be, that something is missing or keeping you from a more joyful life. Whether you have a specific goal for therapy or you are interested in exploring why you are feeling the way you are, we will work together to bring about the positive change you are looking for.

I believe that we are all born with the ability to get through life's challenges but are often not taught how to access the resources we have within us to do so. There are many ways we could work together to find yours such as exploring specific experiences or memories as well as the beliefs you have about yourself and the world to revise any unhelpful thoughts and emotions feeding into your issue.

When you become more aware of the thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours contributing towards your issue and recognise the resources you have within you, the way you approach your life overall can change for the better.
